Parent & ToddlerParent And Toddler Image

The Parent & Toddler sessions are strictly parent-accompanied, for toddlers who have mastered the art of walking!

This is an enjoyable activity enabling both parent and child to have fun together developing co-ordination, colour awareness, shapes and movement, supervised by a qualified gymnastic coach. This class benefits the child's fine motor skills, which in turn is good preparation for their induction into schooling.

Pre-schoolPre School Image

(Structured classes for children aged 3 - 4 years)

Taught in small groups on different progress stations by specialised coaches only. Encompassing all of the gymnastic equipment, the children will use hand apparatus, movement to music, balance, co-ordination and specific breakdown of the very basic skills.

All sessions take place within a safe, controlled environment. These activities improve and develop balance, co-ordination, motor skills and social and educational skills.

Recreational Classes

A structured class rotating around on the gymnastic apparatus, developing skills and working towards British Gymnastics Association recognised badges and certificates of achievement, festival work and low level general gymnastic competitions.

Advanced Recreational Classes

The advanced recreational is by selection only. Members of the NDGA coaching team select these gymnasts from the recreational classes. This session is for an hour and a half allowing more time on each of the apparatus, helping gymnasts progress onto harder, more advanced skills. within the advanced recreational class, gymnasts will continue to work towards British Gymnastics Association recognised badges and certificates of achievement, festival work and low level general gymnastic competitions.

Competition Squads

Selection is by the NDGA coaching team. Members will train to compete at Regional and National levels on Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor as well as Sports Acrobatic and tumbling competitions. The aim is for selection to represent their county and, eventually, Great Britain.

Adult Classes

A supervised activity session utilising gymnastic training and equipment. Supports an increased level of fitness and teaches basic gymnastics skills on individual pieces of apparatus.

The sessions are suitable for complete beginners or returning gymnasts. They are also particularly suitable for dancers and performers wishing to learn elementary gymnastic moves to enhance their repertoire.

Freestyle Classes

NDGA offer a freestyle gymnastics class, which provides the opportunity for participants to come and practice skills from any gymnastics discipline that they wish in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with the general focus being on a wide range of acrobatic and vault work.

The class places an emphasis on freedom, individuality and creativity with regards to the skills that each participant learns and performs, and they are free to move between the various manned coaching stations as they so wish. Fully qualified coaches are always on hand to provide advice and support throughout the session. The classes include a structured warm up and cool down.
